Though initially, I never wanted her to go to Santiniketan, I was not aware of the beauty of this place. And then when I came to know about the significant history of Santiniketan, I was quite overwhelmed and satisfied with my cousin decision.

Set amidst sprawling fields, mango groves and forested land, Shantiniketan is a enticing little place, known for its red soil which makes the landscape rather dramatic. Envisioned by Rabindra Nath Tagore, Santiniketan was formed to meet the requirement of all the students seeking for studies in West.

Frankly, Shantiniketan had an ambiance that couldn't be expressed in words. The compass was a pure and the residents were quite amicable and carried a different level of energy.

Within the diameter of 11 kms, Shantiniketan offered me two great sites to explore. One was Deer Park / Ballavpur Wildlife Sanctuary and the other was Sriniketan ( 3 kms) , both of these added a bit of glitz on my tour. Believe me! Shantiniketan is one place that waits to be admired and enjoyed.
