Rath Yatra
Knowing about Rath Yatra was indeed a pleasure. In fact, exploring Belur Math made my tour to West Bengal an entcing experience.

Since this was the first time I visited West Bengal, Natalie, my cousin was keeping a point that I must know everything about West Bengal. " You know Bengali's are quite good at celebrating fest. They do everything on a very large scale, especially Durga Puja." informed Natalie

But there are some other fest which they celebrate with same vigor. One of them is Rath Yatra, the unique yatra that starts during the month of Monsoons that usually falls in July. Processions are organized in Calcutta by ISKON and in Serampore, north of Calcutta.

On this special occasion, children have a blast as they tend to decorate their chariots with flowers and place in them clay images of Jagannath, his brother Balaram and sister Subhdara.

Being agile by nature, the Bengalis are at their best when they celebrate this fest. Without counting on money, they tend to spend some good amount in order to make this fest a memorable experience for all of them.
