With in the Dooars region, I got the opportunity to explore another wildlife sanctuary - The Gorumara Wildlife Sanctuary. As far as I remember it was second day of my stay in Dooars when we actually came to know about the sanctuary.

Since I was with my cousin, Natalie, the exploration became all the more adventurous. Thought the sanctuary is quite small but I had all the fun that I wanted to have. Spanning over an area of about 79. 85 Sq Km, the sanctuary was a pleasure for us. It was a scenic beauty where mother nature blessed her benevolence on each and every part of the region.

Since we were moved by the beauty of the sanctuary, we decided to have a one night stay in the jungle. The sanctuary has Murti forest bungalow and we resorted to it. This place all the modern amenities and lies on the banks of river Murti near the beautiful forests of Chaparamari, a 45 minute drive from Lataguri.

The sanctuary encompassed animals like Elephant, Rhino, Bison. The tea estate at the outskirts of the forest and the forest watch tower are also a major attraction. One particular thing to remember is that the forest remains closed on Thursday. Exploring Gorumara wildlife sanctuary not only added a new tinge to my tour but also added some great memories in my memorabilia.
