The Holistic touch! The two things that had a long lasting impact on my life after my visit to Uttaranchal was Yoga and Ayurveda. Initially I was not very keen to join any such classes but as I surveyed the land and spoke to people I understood the benefits of the Yoga session. Since I didn't had much time I relentlessly join the Yoga center. After searching the net and reading brochures, I came to know that Rishikesh is one place that one should resort to if he like to try yoga. Rishikesh houses many major Indian ashrams including Vivekananda, Sivananda, Osho Bihar School of yoga. In fact through my experience, it is a good place to try Yoga class instruction. Generally my classes were held in a room apartment but soon on the request of students the classes were scheduled between the greens and fresh air. Till date, I am not able to forget the crisp mountain breeze laced with scented air. Well, generally our session was held in the morning. The holistic session given to me in the spa were focussed on providing simple but highly effective tools that still help me to unwind even after my return to hassle and haste. The sessions!! Before starting the session the instructor there told us about Yoga. He told the class that Yoga is usually defined as union, union between the limited self and divine self. The aim of yoga is not really to unite us with anything for we are already united. It is to help us realize our identity with the divine self to make us know and tune into good human beings. In fact a chat with the instructor helped me to solve the common ailments at home. For example, if you wrap a red cellophane paper on the parts suffering from arthritis, and sunbathe for 20 minutes within three hours of sunrise, it would provide immense relief. Nothing seems insurmountable. The mountains inspired me to think and plan positive. It changed my complete lifestyle when I returned to home. I could have gone for few more days, soaking in tranquility but some how I felt............ that I was rejuvenated. |
