As I was going through brochures, I came to know that Uttaranchal a newly formed state, yet, I thought it manages to endorse several activities that attracts tourist from all over the world.

As I went through different travel books and net, I found one thing in common that adventure activities in Uttaranchal have always been highlighted. As a person, I am not very adventurous but since I was on my leisure vacation, I thought of trying each one of them.

For this I contacted a local tour operator who helped me in chalking out my plan. So, the first adventure that I fixed on my chart was Skiing. Although in television and magazines, I have seen pictures of people Skiing but when it came to me, I felt a stroke of numbness in my body. But believe me! the place Auli is wonderful. One thing that impressed me were the instructors who guided me to Ski on the easiest trek so that even I can boost that I tried Skiing in one of the toughest region in Uttaranchal.

Climbing Rocks!!!
The next thing that we scheduled was rock climbing. In my trip to Uttranchal, there were many things that I did for the first time. And this was one them and I loved it. The two places that I climbed were Green Everest House (Mussoorie), Buranskhanda (near Dhanaulti).

Trekking was one thing that was bound to come in the mountainous region like Uttranchal. But....But .........trekking in this region is not so easy...it is meant for those who enjoy physical challenges. Amongst the best treks in the Uttaranchal are Kedarnath Vasukital trek, Panch Kedar trek, Kalandikhal trek and Valley of flowers trek. I especially liked trekking in Valley of flowers, this one region that has thousands of flowers and ferns.

After the tiring adventures I thought of doing something that was much more relaxing.........What's better then Camping. Well, my tour operator told me that the best places to camp in Uttaranchal are Mussoorie, Rishikesh, Chilla, Corbett National Park and Kaudiyala.

Making your way in Water!!
Since the place is bestowed with river Ganga, the holiest river that is also used for fun at some part. Although I love swimming but what I experienced while river rafting was breathtaking. The Ganga with its frothing and foaming throws up a challenge that no rafter on the earth can look away from. The other things that I tried were mountaineering, motor biking and fishing. I also enjoyed visiting different wild life sanctuaries spread acoss the state.
