Monuments of Uttar Pradesh
For my daughter Leena, it proved to be an educational tour as she came to know so much about the monuments of Uttar Pradesh.

Some tourist who go out for excursions fall out of tourists spots to explore and fortunately, I had no such problem. Uttar Pradesh offered me many destination that included the world famous - Taj Mahal - one of the seven wonders of the world. Honestly, my daughter and I came to India in order to explore the famous Taj Mahal - the royal piece of Mughal empire. Never we knew that apart from Taj Mahal we will get soon any other royal images to capture in our camera.

Apart from Taj, I had a visit to Chota and Bada Imambara of Lucknow. The culture of creativity in Lucknow gave birth to `monumental' sightseeing grandeurs, the most interesting being the stately Imambaras. The Bada (big) Imambara commissioned by Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula in 1784 was an expensive, expansive structure designed by Kifayat-ullah, said to be a relative of the architect of the Taj Mahal. The Bada Imambara is an architectural marvel. Its central vaulted hall is an acoustical wonder. And the dense, dark maze, bhul bhulaiya, is to be explored only if you are strong-hearted. And believe me! Chota Imambara is not far behind. Built by Nawab of Avadh, Muhammad Ali Shah in 1840 and named it Husainabad Imambara. The interior of this magnificent building has chandeliers from Belgium, lamp shades and other decorative pieces which might have costed a fortune in those days. It was not only me but also Leena, my daughter, who enjoyed her trip to Uttar Pradesh and believe me ! these monuments made our tour more special.
