Just 4 days later I was in Tirupati, which is just 704 kms from Hyderabad. Tirupati is better known as the temple town of Andhra Pradesh and houses one of the most revered destinations of India - Tirupati Balaji. This holy city is actually located in the Chittor District of Andhra Pradesh. The city is well connected by Air, Rail and Road. Flights like IC944 and IC943 / 9W 3505 and 9W 3506 connects the Hyderabad to Triputi. The two cities is also well connected through APSRTC busses. Trains like Narayanadri Express, Rayalaseema Express, Krishna Express link the cities well. I took a flight, as all I wanted to do was to save time I had lost. In such a state which is so rich in culture and heritage, every minute of the day counted and I made sure that I don't loose any. Within half an hour or so, I landed in Tirupati; here my room was booked to one of the best resorts. There are number of hotels available which belongs to varied category and stay would not be a major problem for anybody in Tirupati. After I entered my room, all I did was to relax. Had a cup of tea and called my travel agent in Hyderabad. " Hi! I am in Tirupati, What are my travel arrangements here?" I asked. " Sir, a cab will be provided to you by us. And we will also provide you a guide, who will assure you that you explore every part of the city." He replied. And just a half an hour later, I was in a cab with my guide. " Sir, the first thing that we will explore will be the Balaji Temple. This is one of the most important temple of the city and is known is located on the Seventh peak, Venkatachala (Venkata Hill) of the Tirupati Hill and lies on the Southern Bank of the Sri Swami Pushkarini. " 'Sounds Interesting' I thought. After that we explored other temples in Tirupati which included Padmavati Devi Temple, Kodandaramaswami Temple and Sri Kapileswaraswami Temple. It took almost the entire day to explore these sacred places of Tirupati which makes the city distinctively special. I really liked the exquisite craftsmanship of these temples. I collected a lot of details about each of them in form of books, brochures and pamphlets. This made my journey to Tirupati a lot more special. I still behold those memories close to my heart . |
