When I commemorate my trip to Mahabalipuram beach, the first thing that come to my mind is chaos. Actually the day when we planned to explore Mahabalipuram, I got up late and therefore everything was delayed. On that very day, I had to start my exploration at around 10 AM. But then I was so tired that I kept on sleeping and woke up at around 1 PM. And it took me another 2 hrs to actually get ready for the tour. " Sir, I called you thrice but nobody picked up the phone" inquired Murlidharan, my guide. " Ya! actually I got up late. Now from where shall we start" I asked him. " Let's start from the beach" he said. " Fine" I replied. We took a cab from my resort and headed towards beach. On the way, Murli told me that Mahabalipuram Beach attracts thousands of tourists. The major reason of attraction was the magnificent monuments besides the beautiful beaches. In fact, I captured many pictures of Dakshinachitra, Five Rathas,Tiger's Cave and Shore Temple that beautifies Mahabalipuram beach. Amongst them Shore temple is one of the oldest temples in south India. It belongs to the early 8th century AD and is a good example of the first phase of structural temples constructed in Dravidian style and I consider myself lucky that I was able to be a part of Mahabalipuram Beach tour. |
