Taj Mahal Facts
Afer exploring the Taj, I realized the intricacies invloved in making of a monument like Taj. No doubt, Why it is a symbol of love.

Till eternity!
I couldn't have imagined the eternal beauty of the monument until I visited the place. Built by muslim ruler the monument is a perfect representation of mughal architecture.

My guide, Ajay told me that Taj Mahal is situated 900 ft away from the entrance. The monument height is 200 ft and stands on a marble plinth that rests on red sandstone platform. He also told me that the enchanting gate way is built in 150 ft wide and 100 ft high. I was quite impressed by the octagonal towers attached at the corners. These towers were surmounted by a broad impressive opened domed Kiosk. In fact the gateway was richly decorated with the floral arabessques fashioned from gemstones and inlaid in white marble.

The beauty within !!
“Well what are these? They resemble mosques” I asked my guide Ajay. He told me that the structures are called Jawab in urdu, “it means answer”informed Ajay. “ Although they resemble mosque, they are actually not mosques.” said Ajay. I was impressed by the Kronic inscription and the flower design done beautifuuly on the red sandstone backround.

“If you want to see the mosque, we have to move towards west” informed Ajay. He told me that it was the site where Mumtaz Mahal remains were deposited. The green shaded structure measured 19ft by 6.5ft. I liked the material used for flooring that was

The Greenery !!!
Actually I was quiet impressed by the green Persian garden, that surrounds the Taj Mahal. My escort told me that each of the four quarters of the garden was divided into 16 flower beds by stone paved raised pathways. The garden was decorated by beautiful water devices. These water devices procure water from the inlaid water pipes. Copper pipes were used to seperate series of fountains in north-south canal, lotus pond and the canal around it. “ Unimaginable!! the system has survived for so long” I yelled when I came to know that the water system has survived for so long.
