Through my friends in US and India, I came to know that India boost three luxury trains- the palace on wheels, the Royal Orient and The Fairy queen. As I had already collected information about the palace on wheels, it was time for me to collect for the Royal Orient. Through net, I got aquainted with the fact that Royal Orient starts from Delhi Cantt and follow the route of Chiitaurgarh, Sasan Gir, Piltana, Jaipur and back to Delhi.

In totality, it is a 8 day tour, that train starts from Delhi Cantt at 1500 hrs and is operational from September to April. I was quite amazed to know the fact the train doesn't work, during May, June July or August. The reporting time at Delhi Cantt is at 1400 hrs. The trains provide with dining, bar, bedroom and a launge that all practically provides the feel of royal grandeur.

Through a brochure on royal orient I came to know that the royal train provides comfortable cabins, furnished better than many 5 star hotels. Each cabin or coupe can accommodate three passengers. Generally two passengers are accommodated in each coupe. There is a well equipped toilet with hot and cold baths between two cabins. There are two attendants on call for each saloon. And there's a lot more. There is an emergency first aid kit on board. Doctor is available on call at the nearest station. “Wow, What a train”, I thought. Next time when I 'll go to India, I'll probably try this luxury train for my tour to Rajasthan.
