Ranthambore National Park
Famous for Tigers, a well managed National Park with unique flora and fauna.

The Natural Splendor of Nature!
Since childhood, I was very fascinated by tigers and that was probably one reason why I was very excited to visit Ranthambore wildlife sanctuary. Sprawling over 392 sq m, the sanctuary is surrounded by Vidya and Aravali hill ranges.

I called my guide, Ranvir Singh, to escort me to Ranthambore. As I was staying in Jaipur it took me approximately 4 hrs to reach Sawai Modhopur, 155 km from Jaipur, that endorsed the famous sanctuary. Well I was mesmerized by the lush green trees and rustic hills that surrounded the sanctuary concealing its beauty.

A Stay!!
Since I decided to stay in Ranthambore, I looked out for the various resorts available there that included RTDC rest houses and a Taj group hotel. I opted for Maharajah lodge by the Taj group.

Then we both, Ranvir and I, booked a jeep safari for ourself to explore the sancutary. While crossing the long green grasses, I happened to see a majestic fort. “ Hey ! What's that” I inquired my guide. “ That's Ranthambore Fort”.He told me that it is a 1000 year old fort.

While cruising we happened to see many leopards, caracals, jungle cats, jackals and heynas “Mummy! Deer!”, shouted one kid with us in the safari. “ Ya! It is!” his amused mother replied.

Ranvir told me that this sanctuary was declared a national park in 1980 and was included in Project Tiger scheme in 1970. Well no doubt the park endorses a unique flora and fauna apart from its wildlife.
