I would have been a fool, if I won't have covered the forts and the palaces of the majestic land-- Rajasthan. Today when I sit back and commemorate my trip to Rajasthan, the first two thing that comes into my mind are the colors and the monuments (forts and palaces).I was quite lucky that I happened to cover almost all the cities of Rajasthan and so I was able to explore all the majestic edifices of the royal past. Since my journey began from Jaipur, I examined all the palaces and monuments boosted by the city. The first one off course was the Amber fort. It took me around 20 minutes to reach the fort as it 11 km away from the city center of Jaipur. Oh! How can I forget that I took an elephant ride up till the fort. Private Jeeps were available that also took tourist to Amber fort. And then the City Palace of Jaipur was another important monument that I scrutinized in my voyage. Then in Jodhpur, I explored the Meharangarh fort. My guide Ranvir told me that this fort was built in 1459 AD. Ranvir, my guide showed me the museum that showcased outstanding collection of the Jodhpur Royal families memorabilia-jewelry, miniature paintings, armament, saddlery, royal cradles and festive tents. In Jodhpur, I snapped photographs of Mehrangarh fort, another famous fort of Rajasthan. Rajasthan is one state that is full of forts and palaces. In Jaisalmer, I explored the famous Jaisalemer fort and in Udaipur, the City Palace and off course the lake palace that is surrounded by majestic mountains and lakes. |
