Rajasthan is a land of festivals. And I personally experienced the magic of few festivals by being a part of it. Some of the major festivals in Rajasthan are Camel festivals (Bikaner) in January, Gangaur Festival (Jaipur) in July and August, Kite festival (Jaipur) in January, Dusshera (Kota) in November. In fact, I can say that it has festival every month. Through a common friend, I came to know that Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation boost a packaged tour that cover the Kite festival of Rajasthan. It is a 6 day tour and involves sightseeing of Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Jaipur. Makar sakaranti, 14 Jan is especially focused as it kites are generally flown on that day. Apart from RTDC packages, there are local tour operator that also cover the festivals of Rajasthan .These local tour operator make arrangements of all the things from accommodation to sightseeing. It is recommendable for the first timers to choose government packages as they are more safe. |
