Well, since I am a sport person by heart, I wanted to collect information about Rajasthan Polo. And for this I called my guide, Ranvir, to escort me to the Polo ground. The Jaipur royals were a powerful polo playing family and the last maharajah of the state literally died with his spurs on a Polo field.

Where are the grounds?
The irony part was that I could not found good Polo grounds in Rajasthan. While conversating, Ranvir told me that Rajasthan has an arid nature, and hence it can not host a number of Polo grounds. He also acquainted me that Jaipur has one of the famous Rajasthan Polo Club near Sarsi village that has many distinguished Polo players as its members.

Since I was staying in Jaipur, I usually used to throng to the Polo club. On one such occasion, I met one of the prominent Polo player of India, Col Kuldeep Garcha. He is the person responsible for setting up this facility in Jaipur. Presently, he is the coach of Indian Polo team. He told me about the various nuances of Polo as a game.

What I found interesting was the Elephant Polo that I had never seen before. My escort told me that Elephant Polo is played only in two states, that is Nepal and Rajasthan. The other types of Polo included bikes polo, bicycle Polo
