What to say about a place which is a heaven to one of the most majestic animal - Tiger. It was in fact a paradise for me too as I was able to explore the land which I only dreamt. Yes! I always thought to be in a Jungle but some how couldn't manage to be there. Though I am an explorer but some how I was not able to actually capture any of the wildlife sanctuaries through out my exploration.

This time I explored two - Chilka and Nanandankanan Tiger Reserve. It is difficult to say which of the two is better? I liked both of them but I have more memories of the latter. Also known as the ' Garden of Gods', Nanandankanan tiger reserve is amongst the known wildlife park of Orissa.

Specially the safari and all, made my Nanandankanan tour an experience. The park is famous for housing the Gharial and host the only gharial breeding centre of the country. If you have heard of White tigers, then this is one place to look out for.

I had to take a guided safari tour in Nandankanan Tiger Reserve. The guide was quite helpful and he detailed me on every facet of the national park. The most popular of all the safari in Nandankanan is the White Tiger Safari.

The guide on my Nanandankanan tour told me that the Zoo have around 151 species in its collection. Some of the endangered species which are housed in Nandankanan Tiger reserve include Gharial, Estuarine crocodile, Mugger crocodile, Peafowl, White-necked stork, Tiger, Leopard, Himalayan Black bear, Sloth bear, Manipuri deer, Barasingha, Nilgiri langur, Lion-tailed macaque, Indian pangolin, Blackbuck ,etc.

Since the tourist are allowed to capture images of the reserve, I never let the opportunity go from my hand. I snapped many photographs and recorded a video shoot which was exclusive to the territory.
