Cuttuck came much later I explored Bhubhneshwar, though the city is just 30 kms from Bhubhneshwar and boast number of attractions which are worth exploring. My foray to Cuttuck actually surprised me as I never expected so many tourist attractions.

Stay will not be a problem in Cuttuck as there are range of hotels available from air- conditioned to non A/C rooms. Government Run Tourism Hotels and private establishments were available which offer rooms which suits the budgets of economy traveller.

Being a economy traveller, I chose the cheapest resort in the city. " Hello! What is the rent of a room" I asked. The person at the reception kept on looking at my face as he was not able to answer my question; for a simple reason he didn't knew English.

Instantly I spoke "A hotelra bhada kete ? " (Remember I took a short Orissan Language course from Ashish, my travel agent friend). This time, the person at the reception didn't took much time to understand. Rs 150 with bathroom attached. After this we hardly spoke to each other.

I made my plans with the help of Ashish and then scrutinized the city valuables. On telephonic converstaion with Ashish, I came to know the major attractions of the city. Dhavaleswar, Chandikhol, Jajpur, Kendrapara are the known tourist places of Orissa.

Jajpur is one of the important flourishing centre for trade and commerce. Jajpur forms the sacred pilgrim points in Orissa. Also popularly known as the Navigaya Kshetra, Jajpur is just 92 kms from Cuttuck. Another tourist spot that I explored in Cuttuck was the Barabati fort which was built in around 11 th century and was reconstructed in 14 th century. Lying on the banks of river Mahanadi, Barabati fort is an architectural heritage which must be viewed on your tour to Cuttuck.
