I came to Chilka Lake after exploring the great heritage city of Orissa, Puri . Though it was scheduled on my wildlife tour but I came to know more about the place through a tourists. " Okay! What about Chilka Lake, have you been there? " asked Alfred, a traveller from Australia who had already explored Chilka lake

" Hmm..No I haven't explored it as yet but it is definitely on my tour" I replied. " So, how was your experience ?" I asked Alfred. "Indeed very good, it is a paradise for naturalists and nature lovers." he replied. And for next fifteen minutes we were discussing about the unexplored paradise.

Finally after a day, came those special moments when I had to actually step in one of the most fascinating wildlife sanctuaries of India - Chilka Lake. Being India's biggest Inland lake, Chilka lake is one tourist spot that needs to be explored on Orissa tour.

Better known for its brackish water, Chilka Lake is known for largest tropical lake in Asia. This pear-shaped lake is a salt-water lagoon that is dotted with tiny islands that offer a perfect habitat for different bird species.

Other than birds, Chilka lake housed many animals that were watching. I snapped many photographs and each picture holds lot many important moments. Each step I took in the scenic biosphere, took me to another scenic zone.

Other surrounding places that I explored were Kalijai Temple, Narayani temple, Nirmaljhar, Banpur and Taptapani that made my tour to Chilka lake an experience by itself.
