Nightlife in Mumbai
Nightlife in Mumbai provides an enthralling experience and that one could only understand by actually exploring it.

From the last five years, I have traveled to Bombay for many times, in fact it appears to be a second home to me. To me the nightlife of Mumbai represents, the hope, zeal and energy of this dynamic and vibrant city. I have got so much acquainted with the lifestyle of Mumbai, that I don't find any difference between Mumbai and New York. Today I very well know why this city never sleeps....bright lights, neon signs, fast cars, beautiful people. Being a party animal, I invent ways and means to attend various parties and celebrations in Mumbai, that is precisely what I love doing in the city. In fact, it has bars and clubs to suit everyones taste.

At night, dozens of nightspots become packed with dancers moving to the beats of Western music. Mumbai's glitterati prefer theme clubs. These places are best visited for the experience they offer rather than the food and drink. They come and go very quickly, but a few (Olive, Suzy Wong) seem to have some staying power. Generally speaking, however, a casual attitude dominates in most bars and clubs. Most pubs and discos close by 1 am, but a few stay open all night.

Chowpatty Beach and Colaba Causeway, where one will find Leopold's and the Cafe Mondegar form the focus of the traveler's social scene, but if one wants to sample the pulse of the city's nightlife, venture up to Sandra and Juhu.

In fact, I tried the Copa Cabana, a Latin-style pub. It boosted a Spanish tapas bar and a special menu of tequila-based drinks and decent Mexican finger food. Copa is regarded as one of the hottest pubs in the city. I saw that the pub gained momentum after 10 pm. A hot spot for models, socialites, collegians to chill out. Over the period of years, I think I haven't left any pub or discotheque to explore. Another pub where I went was Geoffrey's is designed along the lines of a English pub, the only thing missing is the cider.

Oh! Yes how can I forget about the Just Jazz By the Bay, on the marine drive. This classy club filled with jazz memorabilia has live music Wednesday-Saturday nights. The former haunt of legendary jazz pianist Louis Banks, the club's current acts run the gamut from jazz to reggae to nostalgic pop and karaoke. In fact, one more Bar that I liked was the The Bayview Bar .Its seven-piece jazz band and occasional touring acts lured me to the dance floor where I tried my unique dancing steps and left people gasping for more.

Believe it or not! Nightlife in Mumbai is quite at par with New York. Surprisingly the music and the ambiance was very western and more surprisingly the people on the dance floors were Indians. I was amazed to see the crowd over there that was quite hap and smart.
