This was the first time I ever tried to explore an Indian state. Although I was a regular visitor to Mumbai, I never felt the need to explore this enticing state. May be I was too afraid of people or of the culture, but whatever it was I was wrong. As the people of Maharastra were highly amicable and had good at hospitality.

It was above my imagination or shall I say quite contrary, as I never thought that Maharastrians will be so friendly. I didn't faced any problem as what any discerning traveller may feel that he will face while touring the exotic state of Maharastra.

Maharastra state is one abode which encompasses many people from different caste, creed and colour. They unitedly stay together and compliment each other. Basicaly these people are vibrant and they love to rejoice life. You can easily see their zeal during festivals where they participate in large numbers and make them into gala events. I mean, I was quiet shocked and enticed by the way Ganesh Chathurthi is celeberated in the state. And I was lucky enough to be part of one of the major festival - Ganesh Chathurthi. It was not only fun but the whole process brought me closer to the culture of Maharastara.The major festivals celebrated in the state are: Ganesh Chaturthi, Gokul Ashtami, Diwali, Holi, Dussehra, Padwa etc. provide a common platform for people from all walks of life to interact with one another.

Another thing that I loved was the delicious cuisine. Mouthwatering Dhokla, Kamand, Srikhand, Chandra Poli were few of the delicacies that I loved. Initially, it was difficult for me to get the taste of each dish but then slowly and steadily, the mounthwatering dishes conquered my taste buds.

Overall, I didn't had any problem with any one of them. In fact, I should say it is their greatness that they accept all kind of people and don't let them feel that one is out of country.
