Going to Mahabaleshwar was practically not feasible for me as I had to finish off with my work. But there was definitely a desire to explore it. After unveiling the beauty of Lonavala, Khandala and Amboli, I never wanted to miss this opportunity. Some how I managed and took another break to Mahabaleshwar. Again we three, Michalle, her husband George and I, filled our bags with clothes and accessories and moved out to capture another fascinating zone of Maharastra. As there is no direct road to Mahabaleshwar from Mumbai, we first had to move to Pune and via Mahad, we reached Mahabeleshwar. As far as airport is concerned, the nearest airport is at Pune. Since Mahabeleshwar is quite far from Mumbai and going back to the city on the same day was not possible, for that matter, we had to resort to good hotel. Being a tourist place, Mahabeleshwar has number of hotels to boast off and most of them are located close to the tourist attractions. "George! it seems we are on our second honeymoon ! " Michalle said. " Ya ! thanks to him, in fact because of him we are having a break" George showed his gratitude to me. " No! it because of you guys, I have been able to explore this state" I replied. " Okay! enough! lets finish of with this and plan which tourist place to explore first! " said Michalle. After relaxing or shall I say chatting for a while, we came out of the resort to explore the most visited hill resort of Maharastara - Mahabaleshwar. By that time, we had already jotted down the names of the various tourist spots in Mahabasleshwar. All we did was finalized a cab. The climate was pleasant, although the best time to explore the hill station falls from October to June. Unbelievably, Mahabaleshwar have 30 view points, each one of them provide a panoramic view of the surrounding. The canvass of Mahabaleshwar is filled with greens and amazingly beautifies the landscape of Maharastra. I clearly remember the Wilson Point was the first view point that I explored. Wilson Point is the nearest and the highest point in Mahabaleshwar. It is a vast bare rock with three observation towers erected at different spots. It is a major attraction for tourists as it offers a beautiful view of the sunrise. We were fortunate to unearth the charm of other view points like - Babington point, Carnac point, Bombay point, Panchagani point, Marjorie point. We were in Mahabeleshwar for around 2 days and modestly I found these two days to less. It's not that you won't be able to cover the tourist destination but you won't be satisfied. Such is the beauty that it will leave you wanting for more. |
