Now this was one place that has to be on our itinerary. Being the capital city of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal gave us ample oppurtunities to explore.

Being the capital city of India's largest state Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal became our obvious choice of exploration. Significantly we, didn't faced any problem commuting to Bhopal since it is one the well linked cities of Madhya Pradesh. Bhopal is well connected by road, rail and air.

Being a perfect mix of scenic beauty and historicity, Bhopal is located on the site of a 11th century city, Bhojapal, founded by Raja Bhoja. Bhopal offer just the right kind of accommodation. It comprises all categories of hotel from deluxe, economy, budget. We resorted to a good deluxe hotel in Bhopal. Since we were on our honey moon trip, I wanted to keep my travel and stay best so that we don't ever regret in later part of our lives.

Apart from its natural beauty, Bhopal is also famous for its mosques. The city is divided as; Old Bhopal and New Bhopal. The new Bhopal is an antithesis of the old. One of the greenest cities of India, it has wide, clean, well-lit roads lined with fiery, statuesque Gulmohar trees.

The major attractions of Bhopal are Laxmi Narayan Temple, Moti Masjid, Taj-ul Masjid, Shaukat Mahal, Sadar Manzil and Upper and Lower Lakes and we covered all of them on our exploartion. As a matter of fact, Rinnee, my newly wed wife liked the Laxminarayan temple. Also known as the Birla Mandir, the Laxmi Narayan Temple is situated to the south of the Lower Lake on the Arera Hills. Near the Temple is located a museum that houses a collection of sculptures from the districts at Raisen, Sehore, Mandsaur, and Shahdol in of Madhya Pradesh. The stone sculptures here are mainly of Shiva, Vishnu, and their respective consorts and incarnations. Though she had no idea about Indian traditions, yet she enjoyed the time spent in the temple. " Awesome! the people have such an immense faith. unbelievable!"
