Lucknow was a magnificent place to explore, especially the Imambaras were too exotic for us .

Lucknow was one of the tourist destination in Uttar Pradesh that I explored during my stay in India. The city formed my next stop after Agra. From Agra, I took a cab that drove me to Lucknow. Amazingly, Lucknow is a well connected place and one can easily reach the place by any mode, either through rail, road or air.

Finding a good resort was not a problem as the city boosted a number of hotels. One can easily can find a good budget hotels on bustling Station road, the main traffic artery of the town linking the Charbagh Railway Station to the heart of the town. Apart from budget hotels, the city has luxury hotels like Taj Residency. My daughter and I resorted to Taj, that helped us to relax and wear out tiredness.

At noon, we started exploring the magnificent city of Lucknow. Although the city is quiet small, yet it endorsed many tourist destinations that were worth exploring. Our exploration included - Bara Imambara, Chota Imambara, Kaiserbagh Palace complex, Shah Naif Imambabra. As a part of excursion, we explored places like Kukrail, Dewa Sharief, Dhundhwa National Park.

Since my daughter is an addict to shopping, I could n't say no to her. Being an only child, I had to fulfill all her wishes and demand. I am not sure about myself but Leena, my daughter, surely had a blast, as she bought Jadau (Gem studded) gold work jewellery and Chikan tops( thread work on cotton fabric). The best shopping area in Lucknow are Modern Silk House & Kaysons , The UP Tourism's Gangotri outlet.

Somehow, we never realized how time vanished - from noon- it was night and it was time for our dinner. No doubt, we had crumbs in our stomach but we were too busy in our shopping and sightseeing and didn't felt the need to fill in. But soon, our stomach gave us stringent orders to head towards a good restaurant. So in order to try the exclusive Mughlai dishes of Lucknow, we thronged to Zaiqa-e-Lucknow (The taste of Lucknow). It presented us the best known mughlai dishes that included Kebabs, Naans. After relishing ourself with the mouthwater dishes, we went to our resort and slept.
