Leh being the capital of Ladakh district endorses greenery along the banks of river Indus. My guide, Laxman or laxi as I used to call him, told me that this region is one of heavy snows, biting cold winds. In fact I liked the little vegetation and a beauty which adorns this places, and is almost unbelievable. I also covered the medieval Buddhist monasteries, vivid red prayer wheel, millions of prayer flags fluttering from every pole and every bridge. A land with a blend of mysticism, traditions, natural beauty. Well, this place is swiftly growing commercialism as the tourism department is focusing it .

In fact, Leh is one place that should be included in every itinerary that one chooses for Ladakh. At first I was quiet astonished, as I had so many things to cover in that small capital of the district.

I especially liked the nine storeyed Sengge Nangyal palace. I captured the beauty of the place in my camera. The palace depicted the great tradition of Tibetan architecture. "This palace was built by the King Sengge Namgyal in 16th Century"informed my guide, Laxi. The palace also had a museum with some Tangkhas and paintings amongst each other.

"Is there anything else to be covered" I asked my guide. "Ya! There are many exotic monuments and bazaars"

The other monuments, I covered were the Jo khang, a modern ecumenical Buddhist temple and the impressive mosque that dates back to 17th century.

After this we did a shoot for the bazaars. The guide took us to the Chang Gali, that has small shops. The model that I took for my shoot had a great time over here as she spended her money in buying Jewelery.

At last, when my crew got tired we resorted to a restaurant that offered mouthwatering dishes- Indian, continental, Tibetan. This was an interesting factor that I didn't had any problem in choosing my dishes any where in ladakh.
