A Thrill ! I made many friends at Somatheeram Beach resort, the place where I was staying. One of them was Zeniya from Scotland. She had already visited Kerala before and this was her second visit to spend her honeymoon. Have you visited Veli Village? she asked. What is that? I inquired. She told me that it is a tourist village built sandwiched between Veli lagoon and Arabian sea. As she narrated her experience in Veli village, I was enthralled by the beauty and was very excited to visit this place. It took me approximately 25 minutes to reach Veli, as it is just 8 km from Thiruvananthpuram. The tourist village well connected through buses and private taxis. A place to relax!! Surrounded by exotic blue and lush green, the village offered much more than just a place to spend time. With it's great ambiance, the village provided an excellent scope to actually sit back and relax. Believe me! It was much above my expectation. For those who love to seek adventure, the place endorses many water sports. In fact it also boast motor driven safari in the Shanghumukam beach and, sports like Kayaks and hovercraft for brave hearted people. In fact I got attracted to the floating bridge that connects the beach and the village. Since it was afternoon, relished myself with mouthwatering Sambhar- Dosa at the floating restaurant. In all it's a beautiful place to visit and is a must in every itinerary that deals with Kerala. |
