I would have done injustice to myself, If I won't have tried the Skiing in Kashmir. It was pure fun as I came so close to the mother nature. oh! the lovely Gulmarg...Gulmarg is the hot spot in Kashmir for Skiing. I don't remember clearly, but while traveling in the city, some body told me that Kashmir is a an ultimate paradise for Skiers. The best time to Ski is during December to April as all the major facilities are available during this time such as T bars ski lift, Chair cars and rope ways.

Situated 56 kms from Srinagar, Gulmarg offers some natural slope ways that are beautiful to try. As I skated through the ice, I could feel the cold breeze smooching me on all my face.. prob alt that was the only region on my body that was open at that time. Unbelievably, the abode had some phenomenal trekking routes that runs from 200mtrs to 300 kms. Instructors are available at all the levels.

I consider myself lucky that I tried Skiing in Gulmarg that holds a position as one of the highest lift-served ski resorts in the world. This is due to setting-up of a Gondola Cable Car Lift from Gulmarg to Apharwat top. Through my guide, I came to know that only the first section of the Gandola, from Gulmarg to Kongdori is operational, giving a downhill ski run of about 3 kms. In addition, three ski lifts and one chair lift also service the resort, which are suitable for beginners and intermediate-level skiing, respectively.

Oh! did I tell you that I also tried Heli Skiing in Kashmir.... another breathtaking experience.. the very thought of it increase my aderanalin flow.
