I am not a person who loves shopping, but forcibly I had to, as I had a big list of things that my friends and family wanted from this exotic abode. I had to do a real research in knowing about the markets. The major markets in Jaipur are along Jauhari Bazar, Bapu Bazar, Nehru Bazar, Chaura Rasta, Tripolia Bazar and M.I. Raod.

I bought jewelery and tie and dye sarees from Jauhari bazaar, famous for them. There were two lanes joining the main road Gopalji ka Rasta and Haldion ka Rasta house numerous establishment selling jewellery. Traditional tie and dye fabrics and textiles are also available here.

Then I visited the famous Bapu Bazar and Nehur Bazar for purchasing textiles, local perfumes and shoes made of camel skin. oh! yes, how can i forget about the famous Mirza Ismial road (M.I. Road) It housed large number of emporia . I bought number of goods from there... ranging from jewelery and brass work to textiles, to blue pottery, to woodwork, etc. These shops stock a large variety of goods to satisfy the tourists' needs.

Since my mom and sister wanted leather footwear, I rushed to Ramganj Bazar, famous for shoes or jutis as they are called. The other markets that I came to know about were the Kishanpol Bazar for tie and dye textiles, Maniharon Ka Rasta (Tripolia Bazar ) for lac bangles and other items, Achrol House, Subhash Chowk for carpets.

Somehow, I did my major shopping from Govt. Emporia : Handloom House, Rituraj Building, M.I. Road. Khadi Ghar , M.I. Road, Rajasthan Handloom Project Board, Chomu House and at M.I. Road. Rajasthanli, Rajasthan Government Handicraft . I found these shops authentic and reasonably priced. Let me tell you there is a lot of bargaining in Jaipur's market.
