The peaks in the Himalayan ranges are worth seeing. An abode where one can fully utilize camera to capture the picturesque scenery.

The Everest!
Since time immemorial, Himalayas have been explored for various purposes. But more or less everyone wants to conquer the highest peak of this range- the Mount Everest that is 8, 850m above the sea level.

Well, My main motive to explore Himalayas was to derive as much fun and adventure as I could.

As I was going through a travel magazine, I came to know that Himalayas houses 10 of the world's highest peak. Apart from the world famous Mt Everest, K2, Kanchenjunga and peaks like Nanga Parbat, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri,Manaslu, Lahotse.

It was my sheer luck or destiny that I happened to see as well trek few of the highest mountains in the world.

Second Highest !!
Well, although my innate wish was to conquer the second highest mountain in the world, but somehow I felt it was too high, so I just explored the flora and the fauna of the mountain. “ It is 6,000 m high” informed Bahadur, my guide.

As I was escorted by my guide, Bahadur, I was easily able to retrieve information about the mountain. “ I thought it is called Austin Godwin” I asked Bahadur. “ Ya ! It is the second name”. He informed me that K2 was firstly discovered and measured by the Survey of India in 1856 and named after English topographer Henry Godwin- Austen, who explored and surveyed the region.

Another mountain that I explored was Kanchenjunga, located in Sikkim, India. The name Kanchenjunga means the Five Treasures of the Snow, in the local dialect, reffering to five summit all over 8000 meters. Well, my guide told me that Kanchenjunga has 5 peaks of which true summit is 28,169 feet of 8, 586 meters.

Trekking the Peaks!!!
Out the peaks, I was fortunate enough to explore Nanga Parbat. It has a height of 8126 meter / 26, 660ft. The Parbat had three vast faces. The Rakhiot face is dominated by north and silver crags and silver plateau. The Diamin face is rocky in the beginning. It converts into icy field of Nanga Parbat peak. The Rupal face is the highest mountaineering in the world. The other mountains and peaks that we, my friends and I explored, are Lahotse, Makalu, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu
