Darjeeling
Perched at a height of 2,134 meters, the queen of hills offer a panoramic view of the mighty Himalayan peaks.

Probably I cannot forget my stay in Darjeeling and the reason for that is the fun, I had during my stay. Especially when I tried the famous toy train of Darjeeling, that start from Siliguri to Darjeeling, I felt as if I am much year younger. I faced no problem in landing on the land as it is well connected through air, road, rail. I landed on Bagdogra airport that is 90 km from the hill resort.

After keeping my baggage in one of the best resort, I ventured out to explore the hill resort. On the reception of my resort, I asked the manager to arrange a guide for me who could help me knowing the hill stations. “ Yes, Sir! Why not” replied the manager.

Exploring Darjeeling!!
The first place that I saw was the Tiger hill, the highest spot in the area at 2590m, about 11km from Darjeeling. The hill is famous for its magnificent dawn views over Kanchenjunga and other eastern Himalayan peaks. Close to Tiger Hill is Senchal Lake that I explored, and it supplies Darjeeling with its domestic water. In fact, I found that Senchal Lake is a picturesque destination and amongst a popular picnic spot for holiday-makers like us.

Since I am a keen lover of animals, I could not resist myself when I came to know about the zoological garden that houses some of the rare species of animals and birds." Hey! That is is Siberian Tigers" as I pointed one of the cage that housed them. I was quite impressed to see that the Zoo was home to Red Pamda, The Snow Leopards, Great Grey Birds, Snow Yaks.

Sipping the Tea!!!
I came to know that Darjeeling tea is quite famous for their aroma. So, how could I have missed the Darjeeling tea and it's grounds that are popular all over the world!!! The other things that I shopped from Darjeeling were curios and carpets that were available on Chowrasta and Nehru road. These shops also sell thangkas, brass statues, religious objects, jewelery, wood carvings, woven fabrics and many other items from the Himalayan region.
