The Golden!
Apart from the famous Golden Triangle, India boost tour packages that cover Southern region of the subcontinent . One such triangle covers three exotic cities- Chennai, Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram. Since I had surveyed North India, it was time for me to explore the sultry south. The first city I popped in was Chennai. Well, all I can say about the place is that it has three seasons-- hot, hotter and the hottest. As I was going through the brochures I came to know that the best time to visit this place is between the November to Feburary, rest of the year the temperature remains hot and humid.

What I liked about the city was its allegiance to ancient tradition. The city is still open to skies, greenery and I was able to see the several vestiges of its rural past as the city still adheres to the leisurely tempo of life and of a world of yesteryear. The city endorses the breathtaking Marina beach. It is one of the second largest beach in the world and extends upto 13 kms. The beauty of Marina is such that I almost forgot that I am on Earth. In fact I got lost as I strolled on the silvery sand along the blue sparkling water. Another important tourists spot was the Theosophical Society as it covered the 20 acre of wooded area. The society was initially created by the Madam Blavatsky.

One of the commendable thing about the city was that it is well connected to all the major cities of India through rail, road and air.

The Excavation!!
The next city I excavated was Mahabalipuram. During our bus Journey to the city, we were provided with refreshments and good English music that helped us in passing the time. As we sat randomly in the bus, next to me was an Australian female, Mareena George. She came to explore India with her friends. Since I was a loner, I got friendly with Mareena and her friends. “ So you have come to India for the first time” I asked Mareena.

“ Ya! but few of my friends had already visited India” replied Mareena. And soon we became good friends and talked about everything on earth.

“So now we are going to survey the famous Shore Temple of Mahabalipuram built in 7th Century” exclaimed the guide. He also told us that it has been included in the world heritage site. The other places that we explored were Anjuna Palace and the Manadapams.

After our Mahabalipuram trip our guide told us that we would be exploring Kanchipuram known for its temples and offcourse Silk. The temples we explored were Kailashnathar Temple, Ekambeswar temple, Kumara Kottam. I especially liked the water bird Sanctuaries that lies 48 kms from the Kanchipuram. I saw birds like Egrets, Storks, Darter.

Here lies the Safety!!!
Although I could have covered these cities alone but to tell you frankly it is better to try such packages as they are more safer and moreover one tend to make so many friends from all over the world.

“ I'll miss you” said Mareena “ Same here” I replied. After giving a good bye Kiss, we both parted away to explore the other parts of the majestic land..............India.
