Treasure the Goan Dream! Goa is the ideal place not only to treasure passions rather it is a place to gather the magical hues that are scattered in this dreamy landscape. People in Goa are closely bonded with their cultural roots and hence have well preserved their rich legacy. A walk through the bazaars indeed brought me closer to the ecstasy of this vibrant township. Since my hotel was near to the city center, I decided to do something that I like the most- shopping. The streets of Goa generally bustle with activity during early hours of the day. To my astonishment the shops in Goa were quite different from what I have seen-The local markets are riot of color with exotic products and activity. Adeesh, my local guide, took me to the some of the local markets like Anjuna flea market, the Mapusa Friday Market, New Market at Margao, where I was able to find cheap and desirable product. Antiqueness!! While on the move to Baga beach, I saw number of shops on the road. Adeesh told me that this place have 30 % of all antique shops of Goa, including antique gallery. It also houses a display of artefact's, furniture, lamps, bronze ware and glass ware. And here I exhibited my shopping skills to maximum. I brought many antique pieces including the golden lamps and crystal glass wares. The raw wood!!! Adeesh also informed me about the Mapusa Friday market that is full of wooden carvings, coir mats, wood furniture and straw hats. Goa is shopper's paradise. I perceived Goa to be mere destination natural rendezvous but it rather turned out to be a place where I could treasure the ethnic extravaganza too. |
