Panjim
Panaji is indeed a place where you can see the reflections of the Portuguese presence as you turn the pages of Time. Every pebble my experience a reveal as I unfurl my memories that pebble strewn on the path to Panaji. It's desperate to fortel a mystery that lingers hidden in the waves that sweep the shores of Panaji.

After having traveled few of Goa's spectacular places, I planned to stop by a melodious destination set amidst the calm and serene landscape-Oh ! Yes this is Panjim- a place where god played with his creativity.

Adeesh, my guide, told me that Panjim or Panaji as it is popularly called, is India's smallest state and a pleasantest state capital. Well apart from from its natural beauty , I was really astonish to notice how remarkably the Goans have preserved the Portuguese heritage.

I was mesmerized by its narrow winding streets, small cafes and bars, and the occasional old stone buildings dating from 16 th and 17 th centuries.

Getting Around!!
"But how will we go?" I asked Adeesh. He replied, " We can either go by a ferry from Dona Paula to Margoa or by a bus". And I chose ferry since it gave me a chance to be closer to mother nature. The ferry charged us very less and its frequency was also good. Although the localities also appreciated the bus services.

Look out for these!!!
Adeesh took me to some of the famous places in Panjim that included the Church Of a Immaculate Conception and Mahalaxmi Temple.

The Church bells
After visiting the Church, I realized how important religion and spiritualisms are and what difference they make in our life. Adeesh told me that this Church was one of the main church of Panaji and was built in 1541. I was fortunate enough to attend the mass i.e., held every day in English, Konkani and Portuguese.

The God Above Us
I was quite surprised to see the enticing Mahalaxmi Temple, since I thought it the state is majorly inhabited by Christians , it won't have good temples. But my perception was wrong.

To my amusement, I came to know that Goa is not a catholic state. Today, its holds 65 % Hindus, 32 % Catholics and 3 % others.

Well as far as a Mahalaxmi temple is concerned , I was impressed by its architecture. "This was the first Hindu temple built by Portuguese after 300 years" said Adeesh. He also informed that deity of the temple is Taleigo but it was moved to Bicholim in the 16th Century to escape Portuguese destruction.

Delights!!!!
After visiting some more local site , I was tired and hungry. So My guide gave me two good option Cappucina Restaurant that serves sea food and veg delights and New Punjab Restaurant that serves Indian Punjabi food. I opted for first one since my taste buds responds well to sea food.
