Delhi is a land with a magnificient past. Amongst the oldest cities of the world, it has many stories to unwind and there are many tales that are still to be told . My trip to this city of dreams indeed took me to the distant past as the red carpet of Delhi's rich historic legacies rolls off.

Choice Offered!
I was quite impressed by Delhi as it has multitude of choices that offers travelers to visit different places. From museums, theatres, art galleries and festivals to handicraft, designerwear, cuisines from various part of the globe. Significantly, Delhi is divided into two region Old and New. It was astonishing for me as New Delhi and old Delhi are worlds apart but yet it seemed to me that they are bound together by a magical blend. The nerve centre is the futuristic New Delhi but the charms of the older parts of the city are also very appealing and beyond evaluation.

Destinations!!
As I engaged myself with pre-planned tours, I found that Delhi has many tourist attraction that included India gate, Jama Masjid, Jantar Mantar, Birla Mandir, qutub Minar and many other. There is no short of historical monuments that was once under the rule of Mughals and then British. Delhi had perfect blend of Mughal and colonial architecture that were depicted in the various monuments.

As history took shape in the hands of time it's pace created wondrous relics of art, architecture,music and cultural relections which are indeed a pure and candid expression of Delhi's charisma.

The Tale Continues
Since I am working as a social worker in an international organization, I have to visit different part of the world and that time it was again Delhi. Although I had visited Delhi, but due to my hectic schedule, I was not able to explore the capital city of India. But this time I was lucky as I had four- five extra days in which I had very less work to do. So, I thought of venturing out and experience the magnificient culture of Delhi.

Linking the City!
Delhi is well connected city boosting one international airport ( Indira Gandhi International airport) and one domestic airport. A sound rail network connects Delhi to all other cities across India. There are three important Railway Stations in Delhi namely New Delhi Orly. Station, Old Delhi Rly. Station and Hazarat Nizamuddin Rly. Station.The road network links all the major cities as well as have a wide network across Delhi.

Staying in Delhi!!
Being the capital city of India, it boost a large number of hotels ranging from super deluxe to one that range the lowest. Hotels like Raddisson, Muraya Sheraton, Hyatt Regency are worth trying. And I spent my days in Raddisson hotel, one of the costliest hotel in Delhi.

Exploring Delhi!!!
Since I had almost finished off with my work, I thought of enrolling myself to the tour package that covered all the monuments of the city including the Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Jama Masjid, Parliament house and many others. The tour was not expensive and the tour operator provided us with an A/C bus.

Shop till you Drop!!!!
Shopping in Delhi is all together a different experience for me. Why? Coz the city had a extreme contrasts of culture..visit chandni chowk where one will find utter chaos and on the other hand visit South-Ex where you will find, all the elite class spending there money on branded articles.
