Well, after fully covering the Kedranath, I along with other tour members, headed towards Badrinath. Badrinath is situated in the foothills of Nar- Narayan parvat set against the backdrop of Neel kanth peak. Badrinath is also one of the most revered shrine of India. The shrine opens feom April and closes in November. Sir, its better to take dip in Tapt kund before entering the temple my guide requested. Even I saw that most of the devotees were bathing in the Tapt Kund, nearby before entering the temple. Apart from a being sacred, the water is considered to have some medicinal properties. Well, I was quite astonished how a temple was built at an altitude of 3133 mts. This temple was built by As\di Guru Shankaracharya. What impressed was the brillance in the architecture. The complex was divided into Garbha griha or Sanctum Sanctorum, darshan mandap, where the rituals were conducted and Sabha mandap, where devotees assembled. Mu guide, Pinku told me that comples has 15 idols and the colourful main gate is a recent addition to the temple. I was mesmerized by the beauty of the Lord Vishnu idol. |
