The state of Gujarat is famous as the industrially advanced state of India. The state has many distinctions to its credit. It has a wide range of the most spectacular attractions - which includes breathtaking locations and scenic landscapes and also is home to several architectural marvels, and is a pilgrim center for many faiths. My recent extensive tours of the state have enhanced my knowledge about this industrial state. I was surprised to know that Gujarat has a coastline measuring more than 1660 km, and this is the longest among all Indian states. Whenever there was mention of beaches I just used to think of Goa only. This is because the state is being promoted as the land of beaches. As I have been to Goa before, I found surprisingly that Gujarat also has some interesting beaches. To my hearts content, I found the beaches of Gujarat equally entertaining and beautiful as other famous beaches of India. The coastline of Gujarat is lined by beaches, scenic rocky coastlands, beach palaces and shore temples. The coast promises a holiday that blends relaxing on sea beaches with sightseeing and other activities. Ahmedpur Mandvi Beach is one of the famous beach resorts of Gujarat. The attractions Ahmedpur Mandvi include lovely blue waters, lots of birdlife, sandy beaches and colourful fishing hamlets. Beyt Dwarka, Diu Beach, Somnath & Veraval beach, Chorward are other famous beaches of Gujarat. If Beyt Dwarka is sensuous then Chorwad is perfect for long beach walks and a quiet holiday. Other beaches of significance are Madhavpur Beach and Gopnath Beach |
