The Indian system of healing and cure has been popularized throughout the world by contemporary practitioners. In the city of New York these Yoga and Ayurveda centres have mushroomed. I wanted to experience this ancient system of rejuvenation and I thought the best way to go about it is to learn in the place where it has originated. In that way I thought I will get to see India and also enjoy the benefits of Ayurveda. This is what prompted by journey to Kerala this summer. Though there are lots of places in India where Ayurveda, Yoga and meditation are practiced but Kerala is the capital of Ayurveda. Every year thousands flock to India from all over the world in search of alternate healing. Consequently, many Ayurvedic beach resorts have mushroomed in Kerala. The most popular among these are Somatheeram and Manaltheeram. Somaltheeram Resort Somatheeram Resort is an excellent place offering ayurveda treatments and massages, yoga and meditation etc. It is about 21 kms from the Trivandrum airport and offers accommodation in 07 special house units and 31 cottages with all basic facilities. Manaltheeram Ayurveda Beach Resort Manaltheeram is a picturesque beach resort, just 9 Kms from the world renowned tourist centre place and is 21 kms South of Trivandrum, the city of palaces and capital of Kerala. In Manaltheeram, imbibe the serene ambience of nature in the raw stage. Plunge your senses to the whispering sea breeze, lush greeneries and the murmuring surf. Leave the drudgery and monotony of mundane existence behind. Soak your soul and mind in the ecstasy of celestial blessings of nature. |
