Shodhana- Elimination Therapy
For chronic diseases I found no better therapy than Shodhana. It can work miracles!

I read an article on Shodhana elimination therapy in a magazine and that somehow interested me to know more. Soon, I asked Dr Jai to detail me about this ayurvedic therapy. He told me that when the diseases are chronic, it is difficult to treat through the balancing methods of shaman therapy as it takes a lot of time. Then comes the role of the Shodhana or elimination therapy that takes less time and cure the diseases in which the ailments or doshas are deeprooted. The aggravated ailments are expelled from the body by the use of different types of elimination therapies called the Pancha Karma In fact, the very information astonished me and definitely made my mind to rely more on ayurveda.

The following processes find wide application in Shodhana:
Vamana- supervised vomiting
Virechana- laxatives
Vasti- herbal enema
Nasya- nasal administration
Rakta Mokshana - blood letting

Before starting Shodhana some preparatory treatments are induced to soften the dosha and move it to either to the stomach or to the intestine. From there the dosha is eliminated using the afore-mentioned techniques. Shodhana is also used as a preventive treatment to gain positive health
