At Kottackal I came to know about the Shayadri Ayurvedic centre and I decided to visit it as well. Shayadri is a well-established Ayurvedic Hospital managed by the Peermedu Development Society in Pallikunnu. It is well known for its curative and rejuvenative treatment packages.

I learnt that the centre has well-appointed treatment and accommodation facilities, a unit for manufacturing Ayurvedic medicines and a well-maintained raw drugs museum. In the museum I saw more than 200 varieties of rare and endangered herbs which are preserved there with utmost care.

On knowing about the herb garden maintained by the hospital, I couldn’t resist myself. I took permission from the Director , Peermede Development Society, and headed for it. The garden, spread over 35 acres of land, has more than 400 herbs used for medicines. I realized how mother nature has blessed mankind with such bounties.
