Rejuvenation Therapies
Ayurveda helped me to rejuvenate myself through the various rejuvenation therapies employed. Some of the effective rejuvenation therapies are the Ryasana Chiktsa, Kayakalpa Chiktsa and Many others.

As I had come out of the deadly diseases, Cancer, I had to restore both my physical as well as mental state. Dr Jai, my doctor, in Ananda laid more emphasis on the rejuvenation therapies in my treatment.

The first one was the Rejuvenation therapy or the Ryasana Chiktsa. The therapy tones up the skin and rejuvenates and strengthens all the tissues so as to achieve ideal health and longevity. Increases 'Ojas' or the primary vitality and improves 'Sattva' or the mental clarity and thereby increases the resistance of the body. This therapy includes head and face massage with medicated oils and creams, body massage with herbal oil or powder by hand and foot, internal rejuvenate medicines and medicated steam bath. Herbal baths are also used. After undergoing this therapy, I actually felt as if I am much younger to my age and my skin bloomed with extra glow ….that was somewhere lost in my Cancer treatment.

Then Dr Jai advised me to join the body immunization and longevity treatment or the Kayakalpa Chikitsa. It is a major treatment for retarding the ageing process, arresting the degeneration of body cells and immunization of the system. Includes intake of Rasayana (special Ayurvedic medicines and diet) and comprehensive body care programmes. Most effectual for either sex if undertaken before the age of 50. This also helped me in getting back to form.

Since for the past few years, I had been bed ridden, I did put on some weight. I also joined Body Slimming programme that helped me to get back to my normal weight.

And then off course the Meditation and Yoga had immensely helped me improving my viability. Mental and physical exercises meant to isolate the ego from the body and mind - designed to hone your concentration, improve health and help attain peace of mind through eight stages of training :

1. Disciplined behavior or the yama
2. Self purification or the niyama
3.Control of breathing or the pranayama
4 Control of the senses or the pratyahara
5 Fixing of the mind on a chosen object or the dharana
6. Meditation or the dhyana.

I also came to know about Body Sudation or the Sweda Karma. It involved medicated steam baths that eliminated impurities from the body, improves the tone and complexion of the skin, reduce fat and are recommended for certain rheumatic diseases, particularly for pain. Precious herbs and herbal leaves are boiled and the steam is passed over the entire body for 10 to 20 minutes daily.

After going through all the therapies, I was no longer a weak person, a person who lost interest in life due to his prolonged cancer treatment……..now I was ready to face the world with beaming energy.
