Tezpur
Tezpur was the second city that I explored during my visit to Assam. Tezpur offered me some fresh breathe as by that time, I had already finished my project work.

From Guwahati, I moved to Tezpur, another fascinating city of Assam. It took me around 6 hrs to reach Tezpur which is 181 kms from the Guwahati. Though a small city of Assam, Tezpur is well connected with air, rail and road.

Situated on the North Bank of Brahmaputra, present Tezpur town of magnificent scenic beauty and exquisite archaeological ruins is headquarter of Sonitpur District.

After finishing my work at Kaziranga and exploring Guwahati, Tezpur was a welcome change. Though a small city, Tezpur had number of tourists attractions like the Cole Park, Agnigarh, Mahabhairab Temple and Orang Wildlife Sanctuary which is just 65 kms.

In Tezpur, I had to take a day stay in order to explore every nook and corner of the city. Though a small city, Tezpur encompasses some very good resorts and since, I am very keen of exploring the nature's treasures, Orang National Park added a bit of glamor to my tour to Tezpur. The animals seen in this sanctuary are the One-horned Rhinoceros, Leopard, Elephant, Sambar, Barking Deer, Tiger, varieties of water birds, Green Pigeon, Florican, Teal , Goose, etc.

Then, another place that I still remember from Tezpur is the Cole Park. Being one of the most beautiful park of the city, the tourist spot is often visited by people from all over the world. It was first established by a British Deputy Commissioner, Mr Cole and was established with the intentions to create place for peace loving people.
