Since completion of my project kept drilling my mind, the first place that I planned to visit was the Kaziranga national Park. Being the capital city of Assam, Guwahati was is a kinda place to explore. The place is well connected through air, road and rail. The city host an international airport Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport, that lies 22 kms from the city. Straight from airport, I headed towards Kaziranga, which lies at 217 km from Guwahati, to collect data on one horned Rhinos. After dispatching adequate information on one horned Rhinos to my boss at Bangkok, my actual exploration started. To know more about the flora and fuana, I went to Manas Tiger Reserve. The park is about 170 km away from Kaziranga and is 5 hrs away from the city. Famous for protecting Tiger, this reserve added a lot more adventure on my tour to Guwahati. Being designated as the World Heritage Site, Manas Tiger Reserve is a heaven for nature's lovers. Another site that I explored in Guwahati is Kamakhya Temple. One of the best known temple of Guwahati is Kamakhya, situated on Nilachal Hill, eight km west of the city. This temple honor the Mother Goddess Kamakhya, the essence of female energy. I also explored Assam State Museum, the museum is a rich repository of antiquities that highlight the diversity of the state's cultural traditions. The other attractions that I explored were Navagarh Temple, Assam State Museum and Botanical gardens. |
