While on way, I came to know that Digboi is one city that is known as the oil city of Assam. This city indeed fascinated me as it proclaimed a long history. Since this was a small city, I never felt like taking a guide and explored all the scenic tourist spots of Digboi. Boasting two modern wonders of the world – a hundred-year-old oil field still producing and the world’s oldest operating oil refinery.

Travelling to Digboi was not at all a problem as it is well connected city through all mediums. The city is 190 kms from Guwahati, the capital city of Assam. The nearest airport of Dibrugarh is 65 km from Digboi.

" Hey! Where are you from?" asked one native of Digboi. Though his question was quiet simple yet I was nervous whether I should reply him or not. Since I belonged to foreign land, it could have been a bit dangerous for me to answer this question. " Hong Kong! And I have friend in Digboi, he is living here for past 20 years and know everybody" I manipulated the entire thing and answered him all rubbish that I could have. Being in a foreign land, one has to be a little cautious and take adequate steps in order to avoid any harmful event.

Through magazine and travel books, I came to know many facts that all the more fascinated me and inculcated a desire to explore this beautiful city of Assam. National Oil Park, War Cemetry, Dibru Saikhowa Wildlife Sanctuary, Namdapha National Park are few of the tourists attractions of Digboi that made my travel to Digboi, an enticing experience.
