It was just a fifteen minutes drive from my hotel in Warangal. As we were moving towards the Warangal fort, my guide unfolded many facts about the fort. Constructed in 13 th century, Warangal fort beholds a magic to spectacle. The fort comprised of two walls, the sturdy inner one built of stone and an outer one of mud. As I entered the fort, I was surrounded by number of kids who asked for money. If I remember correctly they said '' Ek rupiya de do" which meant, ' Please give us one rupee." Thankfully, I had a guide who was well versed in Hindi as well English and made this translation work easy. As I studied the fort minutely, I was liked founded that the fort had lost some of its construction. There were number of tourists in Warangal Fort and it seemed that they all belonged to different parts of the world. Warangal Fort is good place for historians as well. The ruins of Warangal fort provided us an insight into the great workmanship of marvellous sculpture. The must watch in the fort are the gateways which are called as Kirti Toranas (great gateways) of Kakatiyas. It was good monument to be captured in a camera and I had many shots of it. |
