Temples in Vijayawada
I somehow liked all the southern temple architecture.

I still behold several memories from my Vijayawada exploration. Especially when I ventured out to explore the temples of Vijayawada. Basically, there were three important temples in Vijayawada - the Kanakadurga temple, the Malleswara temple and the Vijayeswara temple

The first one in the line which I explored was the Kandakadurga Temple. The Kanakdurga Temple belongs to Goddess Durga, better known as the goddess of power, richess and benevolence.

On the very same day I explored another revered temple - The Malleswara temple in Vijayawada which boasted a Shivlingam. This Shivlingam was worshipped by the sage Agatsya. According to the legend, the temple was created by the Pandava prince, Yuddhistra.

It is said that Lakshmi Narayan Temple at the foot hills of Mangalagiri was constructed by Yudhistra, the Pandava prince. There is another temple known as the Vijayeswara temple was founded by Arjuna. Both Yudhistra and Arjuna were kings of the bygone era.

Exploring these temples were quite fascinating and I enjoyed a lot exploring them. Vijayawada is a religious center and destination for Hindi pilgrims; Brahmanic cave temples (7th-century Dravidian) are nearby.
