Puttaparthy
Puttaparthy is the revered zone of Andhra Pradesh and is quiet famous amonst Hindu pilgrims.

" Have you been to Puttaparthy?" a fellow traveller asked me. " No" I said. " How on earth you can miss Puttaparthy" he said. " What is Puttaparthy famous for?" I further enquired. "It is for you to see." he replied back.

Though the questions asked were simple but they were enough for me to inculcate a desire to explore Puttaparthy. The city is well connected by rail, road and air.

Located on the rocky and arid part of Andhra Pradesh, Puttaparthy is close to the Andhra Pradesh border. The city is just 400 kms from Hyderabad and has now become a great tourist attraction. The city belongs to Bangalore Circuit of South India.

Puttaparthy is located in the arid and rocky regions of Andhra Pradesh. Well this was one city which I was not there on my travel plans. TMay be my travel agent though that it was not that important for me. The city is quite important amongst those who belive in SRI SATHYA SAI BABA, a saint in India. He is considered the Sai Baba is the reincarnation of the former Sai Baba of Maharashtra popularly known as Sai Baba of Shirdi.

As far as stay is concerned ashram in Puttaparthy are cheap and clean. I resorted to the Sri Sathya Sai Village which had an air conditioned room and also boasted a multi cuisine restaurant. The food available in this ashram is vegetarian and quite cheap as compared to other. Though I was there just for a day but then I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance.

There were some interesting tourist attractions that I explored on my Puttaparthy trail. Prasanthi Mandir,Gayathri Mandir, Sai Kulwant Hall, Sarva Dharma Stupa are some of the major attractions within Puttaparthy ashram which I explored.
